We have excellent speakers again this year that will pass on their expertise and answer any questions you may have. They are -Sean Gallagher, speaker and entrepreneur who is best known as an investor on RTE’s Dragon’s Den. He is founder and former CEO of Ireland's largest home technology company, Smarthomes. As an entrepreneur Sean understands the challenges of setting up and growing a successful business in Ireland. He is a Board member of InterTradeIreland the North South Trade body and was recently appointed to the Board of FAS, the National Training and Employment agency. Today he supports and mentors many emerging entrepreneurs and small businesses and start ups. Sean is a regular contributor in the media and at seminars and conferences on success, business and entrepreneurship. Sean will speak on Changing attitudes and changing the law - The importance of the role of SME’s in economic recovery

Brendan Walsh, Solicitor and Dublin Sheriff who has been involved in some of the most high profile constitutional law cases as well as overseeing local, general and European elections in the Capital. Brendan has handled many high profile cases including the East Donegal Co-op Case, McMahon v Attorney General and McGimpsey v Ireland. Working with the then Junior Counsel Mary Robinson, Brendan also brought the first ever successful case against Ireland to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg; Airey v Ireland which brought in Civil Legal Aid to this Country. From 1983 to 1987 he was a Vice Chairman of the Rent Tribunal during which time he handled over 500 cases.
Brendan will speak on his role as Sheriff and other areas relevant to our industry and will deal with Q & A.
Mark Fielding, Chief Executive of ISME, the Independent Business Organisation. He has been involved in the SME sector throughout his working life as well as being a senior partner in an accountancy and management consultancy firm specialising in SME's. He has worked in the UK, France and Ireland and has assisted in the start up of more than 300 companies. Mark is a well known figure on Radio and Television with his tireless work for the small and medium businesses. Mark will speak on a number of issues affecting small business including 'Keeping the small business moving – A guide to surviving in a downturn', it gives advice on cash flow, general cost reduction and marketing as they relate to smaller business.
Liam Reddy, former director and Deputy Chairman of Experian Ireland Ltd. He has over 44 years experience in credit management ; is an honorary fellow of the Irish Institute of Credit Management and Vice President of the Federation of European Business Information Services. He specialises in visiting businesses, examining credit management policies and procedures and implementing new and improved systems. This is an affordable service which pays for itself almost immediately. He has also lectured extensively on credit management solutions to leading firms in the construction, engineering, hospitality and general services sectors; also to a wide variety of sectors in Ireland including the medical profession.
Liam will speak on Insolvency, and will also speak on the important role staff play in credit management and how they handle their customers.
Billy Spence, Managing Director of Creditsafe Ireland. During a successful sales career in Creditsafe’s UK operation, Billy rose from a start as a telephone sales executive through a variety of management positions before ending up as Telesales manager for the company’s new business operation. After further developing his career in media sales he rejoined the Creditsafe Group in 2007 specifically to oversee the launch of the company’s Irish operation and continues to manage it’s continuing growth and evolution. Billy will speak on “Where next for Irish business? – Using Credit information to chart the road ahead” Through an analysis of Irish business using Creditsafe’s powerful predictive modelling tools Billy will review which industries are riding their way best out of the recession, and which should still be viewed with caution. By comparing Irish figures to those from the UK and other key European trading partners he will show some key lessons for the months ahead
