Regulatory board suspends accountant

Kieran Costelloe of the firm of accountants, Kieran Costelloe and Co of Mullingar, has been suspended by the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board (CARB) over his debts to the Revenue Commissioners.

A CARB tribunal found that Mr Costelloe had three judgements in the sums of E32,469.25, E7,977.66 and E10,227.01 outstanding against him in favour of the Collector General.
The Tribunal made an order that Mr. Costelloe be suspended from Chartered Accountants Ireland until such time as the debts plus any interest accruing are settled in full, be severely reprimanded and pay E11,223.33 towards the costs incurred by the CARB.
