Fitzpatrick to replace Meade - 05-Jan-2010

Fitzpatrick to replace Meade as watchdog

The Financial Services Ombudsman Council today said it had appointed PJ Fitzpatrick to the post following the retirement of Joe Meade. Mr Fitzpatrick is the former chief executive of the Courts Service and begins his new job on an interim basis from today.
The council says the process of replacing Mr Meade on a permanent basis has started,
and interviews are due to be held later this month. Mr Meade was the country's first Financial Services Ombudsman,
having taken up the position when the office was set up in 2005.
