As you are aware The Irish Institute of Credit Management (IICM) is a not for profit organisation set up in 1971 to increase awareness among Irish Companies of the benefits of good credit management.

 

The IICM Mission Statement is: To raise the status of the profession of Credit Management to a level where membership of the Institute and appropriate qualifications are recognized by the business community in Ireland as essential prerequisites for positions in Credit Management. To be recognised by the media, government and corporate bodies in Ireland as the primary source of information and views on Credit Management.

 

IICM is committed to the ongoing training and education of its members and has recognized partnerships with other companies in the provision of such courses. It is the only awarding body in Ireland for Certificate and Diploma courses for credit professionals.

 

IICM is a source of knowledge and support for all our members, and has an extensive range of Corporate Members providing a range of products and services for members.

 

For the past number of years we have outsourced our administrative function to Declan Flood who not only operated in the role of Chief Executive for IICM providing the relevant and required support for IICM but also provided maintained, promoted and encouraged excellent Credit Management training and education through his own business Irish Credit Management Training (ICMT).

 

As part of the ongoing development of IICM we are now changing our structure from 1^st April 2010 and are going to recruit a dedicated Administrator reporting directly to the President. In his capacity as Principal of ICMT, Declan Flood will of course continue to be a recognised partner, crucially delivering the Institute’s Certificate and Diploma Courses in addition to providing the excellent training in the area of credit management. IICM will continue in its relationship with ICMT and IICM will continue to be the awarding body for all Certificate and Diploma Courses.

 

The President and National Council of IICM, would like to thank our members for their support, to Declan Flood and all committee members for their continuing commitment and dedication to our organization.  We see this as an exciting opportunity and step forward for all involved in the IICM. We feel we will be able to deliver better on the needs of our members and look forward to working even more closely with all members of IICM. We will continue to raise the profile of all credit professionals working in Ireland and beyond.
